Here's a Batty Joke for your Chuckling Enjoyment
 untitled__100.jpg size=3941
A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it. He told them to knock it off and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in.
Okay, follow me," he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through a valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees. Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him. "Now, do you see that tree over there?" he asked.
"Yes, yes, yes!" the bats all screamed in a frenzy.
"Good," said the first bat, "Because I DIDN'T!"

Meals

I would like to do what we have done the past two years & have Pizza the first night on Friday & have a Bar-B-Q on Saturday Night. I would hope that the Bar-B-Cue would again be something like a potluck, people can bring snacks, chips, drinks, stuff like that to share with all the rest of us.   People who are of age are allowed to drink but it is BYOB but I'll probably have my blender up there  & serve as the resident bartender again this year.  I make  mean Daquari's & Magarita's. :)  I will also have my Coffee Pot & Expresso Machine for you Caffine Freaks.

 Games & Activities

So what do you guys think?? Are we going to do the White Elephant table again??  It's been such a blast at the past three.  For those of you who don't know what a White Elephant table is, everyone who plays, brings a cheap gift which is wrapped.  We put all the gifts on a table & we draw #'s, who ever gets the lowest # get's the first pick of the gifts.  Then we have a chance to steal gifts from other people that we want.  Check out the pictures from the past Get-Togethers to get an idea of how it works.

I am assuming that we are also going to do the Campfire Gathering again, any ideas on things we could do there? Last time Ginger & George brought a dry chalk board & we played a bunch of Pictionary, does anyone have any game ideas??  For all you first timers, the campfire gathering is just everyone gathering around the campfire everynight & chatting.

At the campground we have tons of room, we could play lots of different games in the large softball field.  Does anyone have a volleyball net & a volley ball?  There is a place to put up a net.  How ‘bout a baseball bat & ball so we could play softball on the field? Scuba masks & fins?

USM Oregon Get-Together Group

This is very important, it would help me out a bunch if everyone who receives this newsletter would go into the group sections on USM & become a member of the group titled, Oregon Get-Together July 2004. This is going to serve as a message board for all of us, any new pertinent information will be posted there.  Perhaps people who want to carpool together can find eachother in the group. Please become a member of this group, then I can send the entire group messages letting them know of any new developments! Thanks so much guys, this will really help me out in keeping you informed!

Also, I hope to start having a weekly chat meeting. By clicking on our group, there is a button called Chat in the group, that is our own little chat, I would like to start meeting together in our chat, soon. Please go to the group & let me know what days & times are good for you & we’ll work somthing out ! Make sure to become a member & I will message the entire group with the time that is best for everyone & the date we begin our chats. We can use the chat & group to get to know one another better & make sure no one is left in the dark about anything concerning the Gathering. Can’t wait to see ya’ll there so we can talk about the Get-Together & I can answer any questions you might have.

USM Oregon Get-Together Fund

Of course though, doing all this takes money, somthing I don't really have much of (I'm not really making my bills right now) So, any help would be greatly appreciated.   If it weren't for Radman & Ginger this Get-Together wouldn't be occuring.   All monies recieved into the USM Oregon Get-Together Fund, goes towards the Get-Togethers.  If you would like to contribute & help everyone have a good time, please messege me on my USM profile or Email me & I will give you the necessary contact information.

Driving Directions

alien_clipart_17.gif size=

These are detailed driving directions, the mileage is perfect, I recorded it myself so technically, you could find the campground using your odometer.

Roseburg is located on Interstate 5 (I-5) . Take exit 124. Turn right on Harvard Blvd. Go through 2 stop lights & when you come to the 3rd light, turn left onto NE Stephens street. Travel down NE Stephens for 2 lights & as you approach another light & a large intersection. There will be a HUGE sign, saying Diamond Lake to the right, turn right onto Diamond Lake Boulevard. Diamond Lake then becomes Highway 138E (also known as the North Umpqua Hwy) once you leave the city limits.

You will take Highway 138E for 15.4 miles. Shortly after Highway 138E turns from four lanes to two, you will come around a sharp corner & as you come out of it, Glide will be ahead. Just as you enter Glide, you will turn right onto Little River Road. There is a green sign indicating this road & there is also a Smokey the Bear, Fire Danger sign when you first turn. You will take Little River Road for exactly 12.4 miles. The Campground is called, Wolf Creek Recreation Site, there is a brown sign announcing it on the right of the road, the entrance is to the left. Once you turn onto the campground road, drive straight, you will see the Pavilion & softball field off to the left stay on the main gravel road it will end at our area!

Extra's

Does anyone want to do the T-shirts this year?  Any volunteers to make name tags this time??

Plus Please feel free to messege me if you have any questions, I'll try my best to help ya out :)
